1. Move Your Body
Dance freely: Put on music and move however your body wants to. Don’t worry about how it looks; focus on how it feels.
Dance: Choose songs that make you feel confident, desirable, or playful. Let your body respond naturally.
Yin yoga: Slow stretches and held poses can release tension and help you reconnect with your body’s sensations.
Exercise: Any activity that helps you feel good.
2. Explore Touch and Sensory Pleasure
Moisturise mindfully: Take time to feel the texture of lotion or oil on your skin. Move slowly, noticing the warmth and touch.
Wear what feels good: Choose fabrics and outfits that make you feel comfortable, confident, or empowered.
3. Create a Sensual Environment
Set the scene: Carve out a space where you feel safe and present.
Play: Dim lights, candles, or soft lamps create a cozy, intimate vibe.
Add sensory elements: A candle, soothing music, or gentle scents can heighten your awareness of pleasure.
Art: Sensual art in your environment can not only be a reminder to connect to your sensual side but can also spark pleasure.
4. Connect with Pleasure
Notice everyday pleasures: Slow down and pause to recognise small joys. A warm drink, sunlight on your skin, the feel of soft fabric, or the water on your skin in a shower can all be sources of delight.
Flirt and play: Engage in lighthearted, playful interactions with yourself or others to connect with desire.
Masturbation: Exploring your body in private can help you learn what feels good, build confidence, and connect with your desires.
5. Meditation and Visualisation
Meditation or mindfulness: Sit quietly, focus on your breath, and tune into your body to cultivate presence.
Visualise pleasure: Imagine warmth, energy, or light moving through your body, enhancing your confidence, sensuality, and pleasure. Visualise receiving or experiencing pleasure.
6. Explore Erotic Content
Read erotic literature: Romance novels, smutty books, or other erotic writing can spark desire and imagination.
Listen to erotic audio: There are now various apps or platforms that produce erotic audio. My favourite is Dipsea.
Watch: Films or visual content that make you feel connected to your sexuality can deepen your sense of desire.
7. Writing and Affirmations
Reflect on your desires: Write about your fantasies, experiences, and feelings to understand yourself better. Reflect on how you experience your sexuality and what feels pleasurable in your body.
Try erotic writing: Use your imagination and explore pleasure through words.
Use affirmations: Say things like, “I deserve pleasure,” “My body is worthy of desire,” or “I am sensual and alive.”
Tips for Daily Practice
Pick one or two practices each day to keep it simple and manageable.
Combine practices for a richer experience. For example, dance in a softly lit room with music and a candle. You might like to create a monthly ritual of having one day or evening dedicated to exploring your sensuality and sexuality.
Focus on experiencing sensations, not achieving a specific goal.
Stay curious and playful.
The Journey of Self-Discovery
Your sensuality and sexuality are unique to you. These practices aren’t about perfection; they’re about presence, connection, and pleasure. By embracing these moments, you can cultivate a deeper understanding of yourself and your desires. Remember, it’s all about the journey of self-discovery and empowerment.
